San Blas (or Guna Yala) is one of the most magical destinations in Panama, but before traveling, many questions may arise. Here we answer the most frequently asked questions so you can enjoy your trip without complications.
The journey begins with a 4×4 transfer from your hotel in Panama City (about 2.5 hours). Then, you’ll take a boat from the port to the islands (20–30 minutes depending on the island).

Departure from Panama City: between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m.
Arrival in San Blas: around 9:00 a.m.
Return: boats leave between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., arriving back in the city around 7:00 p.m.
Tours usually include 2 or 3 paradise islands and a natural pool. Some of the most popular are Isla Perro, Isla Fragata, and Isla Aguja.

Prices range between $120 and $150 per person for day tours. This includes transportation, entrance fee to the Guna territory, boat transfer, and lunch.

Yes, a typical lunch and one courtesy drink are included, but we recommend bringing extra water. Drinks and snacks can also be purchased on the islands.
Yes. When booking, you can request an alternative menu (vegetables or salad). It’s important to notify us in advance so we can coordinate with the Guna community.
Yes, but keep in mind that the boat ride can be bumpy. We recommend bringing extra life jackets for children and considering the physical condition of older travelers.
Yes, you can bring it with no problem. Snorkeling equipment is included in our tour, but you’re welcome to use your own if preferred.
Tours are not canceled due to light rain. Only in cases of extreme weather can the authorities suspend departures for safety reasons.
Signal is very limited or nonexistent. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature.
Yes. There are rustic cabins managed by the Guna community. They don’t offer luxury, but the experience is 100% authentic.
