Travel tips

Start your vacation journey by choosing a guided tour package. It’s the best way to travel with your family because all the details are planned in advance. You just have to enjoy and not worry about the details.

For those who plan ahead, take some time to create a complete itinerary after doing some research on the destination you’ll be visiting. Pay special attention to special festivals, the weather, and the political climate when working on the itinerary. This will give you space for backup plans in case of unforeseen travel issues.

The itinerary also ensures that everything is planned based on what you and your family want to see and experience. Just make sure all the activities are something worth trying and will give you and your travel companions a new dimension of the places visited.

If you’re traveling on a budget, you should plan for the flight, ground arrangements, passport, visa, meals, transportation, shopping, and cash for emergencies.

Packing your suitcase smartly is key to a successful trip. Here’s a detailed list of what you should bring, divided by categories so you don’t forget anything.

Passport – Make sure it’s valid for at least 6 months before its expiration date.
✔️ Visa (if applicable) – Check if your destination requires a visa and bring both printed and digital copies.
✔️ Travel Insurance – Print a copy and save a digital version in your email or cloud storage.
✔️ International Credit/Debit Cards – Make sure they are enabled for use abroad.
✔️ Cash in Local Currency – Bring enough for initial expenses such as transportation and meals.
✔️ Secure Wallet or Anti-theft Belt – Ideal for keeping cash and important documents safe.
✔️ Digital Payment Apps – Check if Apple Pay, Google Pay, or digital wallets are accepted at your destination.
✔️ Universal Power Adapter – Check the type of plug at your destination.

Clothing
✔️ Comfortable and Versatile Clothes – Bring items that can mix and match to save space.
✔️ Clothing for the Weather:

  • Cold Weather: Thermal jacket, gloves, hat, scarf, waterproof boots.
  • Warm Weather: Light clothes, sunglasses, hat, sandals.
  • Rain: Waterproof jacket, foldable umbrella, water-resistant shoes.

✔️ Underwear and Socks – Always pack an extra pair.
✔️ Pajamas – Make sure they’re suitable for the climate at your destination.
✔️ Swimwear – If you’re going to the beach or a hotel with a pool.
✔️ Comfortable Walking Shoes – Essential if you plan on exploring the city or hiking.
✔️ Additional Shoes – Sandals for the beach or dress shoes for special occasions.

With this list, you’ll be ready for any destination.

Make a Packing List
Before you start, make a list of everything you need to bring. This will help prevent forgetting important items and ensure you pack only the essentials.

Know the Baggage Restrictions
✔️ Check the weight and size limits allowed by your airline.
✔️ If you’re traveling with only carry-on luggage, make sure it complies with the liquid rules (maximum 100ml per container in a clear bag).
✔️ Verify if there are any restrictions on items at your destination (some countries ban certain foods, medications, or products).

Use Packing Cubes or Organizer Bags
Luggage organizers help maximize space and keep everything neat. You can also use compression bags to reduce the volume of clothing.

Roll Clothes Instead of Folding
Rolling clothes instead of folding them saves space and prevents wrinkles. It also makes it easier to find what you need without creating a mess in your suitcase.

Store Liquids in Sealed Bags
✔️ Use a transparent, zippered bag to prevent spills.
✔️ Carry reusable travel-sized containers for shampoo, soap, and other products.

Extra Tip: Leave Space for Souvenirs
If you plan to shop, leave some space in your suitcase or bring an extra foldable bag.

By following these tips, you’ll travel lighter and worry-free. Safe travels!

Panama has specific immigration policies that determine whether citizens from certain countries need a visa to enter as tourists. Below are the main categories:

Countries that require a visa to enter Panama:
Citizens of the following countries must obtain a visa to enter Panama:

  • Cuba
  • Dominican Republic
  • Haiti
  • Philippines
  • India
  • Venezuela

For these countries, there are two types of visas:

  • Stamped Visa: Obtained at Panamanian consulates and does not require prior authorization from the Immigration Directorate.
  • Authorized Visa: Requires prior authorization from the National Immigration Directorate and must be requested at the corresponding Panamanian consulate.

It is important to note that according to Executive Decree No. 521, citizens who normally need a visa to enter Panama can enter without one if they have a valid multiple-entry visa or residence with a minimum validity of six months, issued by countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, or any European Union country.

Since immigration regulations may change, it is recommended to consult with the nearest Panamanian Consulate or Embassy before planning your trip to get up-to-date and accurate information

On the day of your trip, it’s important to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before an international flight to complete all procedures without stress. Ensure that your passport, visa, and other documents are in order, and keep a separate copy of these for safety. Make sure to pack essential items in your carry-on, such as medications, chargers, and a change of clothes. Stay hydrated, and if possible, try to rest before the trip.

It’s also advisable to carry some local currency from your destination country and check that your credit cards work internationally. Follow the health and safety regulations at the airport and be prepared for any health requirements or necessary tests. Review the details of your flight connections and, above all, maintain a relaxed and positive attitude to enjoy the experience. Travel prepared and worry-free!
